But I still think there is room for a home page — at least for the destination sites of the Web — WSJ, NYT, ESPN. People will go to those sites to see what the big players have to offer. I do like the latest design trend of a really slimmed down home page.

I watched a presentation the other day by a design firm about a recent project they did for a major daily, and it reminded me so much of the redesign that you and I worked on many years ago (you being Jason.) And the conversation sounded so similar to the ones we had nine years ago that I walked away thinking “I get that it’s a nice design, but I don’t think it matters, because that’s not how people surf anymore.”
